Report privacy

Your report text, approximate location, updates and approved photos are public. Your name and email are private. When you contact a report owner, your email is shared privately with them after you verify it. Replies may disclose the owner's email to you.

Never include home addresses, shipping labels, tracking numbers, barcodes, QR codes, phone numbers or information about children in public reports or photos. Package photos wait for moderator review. Other photos publish after email verification; automated checks cannot identify every privacy problem. Use Report a problem on any public report.

Private contact information and messages are removed 90 days after a report is archived or removed. Public status URLs remain so old shares can show the outcome. Access logs must exclude query strings, authorization headers and request bodies. BCL records aggregate action counts without analytics cookies.

Keep management links private. Requesting a replacement sends a confirmation email; completing confirmation replaces the old link. Unattended reports expire as unconfirmed, never as found.
